About me

craft and essence

Welcome to my atelier!

My name is Lourdes and I have a passion for flowers. I feel a special magic as I sculpt them and breathe life into them, petal by petal… creating beautiful headpieces that will become a part of you.

Where has this special feeling come from?

I have inherited my passion for flowers, and for jasmine in particular, from my two grandmothers, Dolores and María Luisa. Both of them were from Córdoba, Andalusia, where the patios and their flowers are distinctive features of the city. They felt this passion and they passed it down to me.

My grandparents used to live in the Jewish Quarter of Córdoba, behind the monument to the famous Jewish doctor and philosopher, Maimonides. On the façade of the house there was an enormous jasmine plant, which is still there today.

If I close my eyes, I can picture my father collecting the jasmine flowers, which had yet to open, to make us some beautiful hair adornments. He would also put them on the bedside table, and they would fill the house with their intoxicating fragrance. This is why when I think about jasmine, smell it or sculpt the flowers, I am transported back to the sweetest moments of my childhood.

Let me tell you a little bit about my life journey so far.

I grew up believing that studying was essential if I was to become someone. This is why I kept my passion under wraps, treating it as a hobby. I specialized in my studies and for nearly twenty years I enjoyed working in the health sector. But I began to feel more and more strongly that there was something missing from my life. Following a soul-searching personal journey, I reconnected with my essence, gave up everything and devoted myself to my passion: creating flowers with my hands and transforming them into beautiful headpieces.

Now, drawing on all the experience I have gained, I feel I am returning to my roots through my jasmine flowers, closely accompanied by my grandmothers. This is why my first collection, “The Garden of Maimonides”, is dedicated to them, in appreciation of all their love and hard work.

I would also like to thank my family and so many wonderful people who have appeared in my life and, through their love, helped me realise my dream.

Thank you!!
